Celebrating Black History Month with Common Heir: a skincare business owned by women of colour

As Black History Month kicks off, I wanted to shine a light on a brand that truly embodies the spirit of celebration and empowerment: Common Heir. Co-founded by 2 passionate women of colour, Common Heir is a sustainable skincare brand that's not just good for ALL skin types, but good for the planet and good for the community.

Love at First (Ingredient List)

I actually first encountered Common Heir at one of my regular facial appointments at Hey Day. What initially drew me in was the perfect-for-travel capsule design of their Vitamin C serum, which gave my skin a much needed dose of brightening after some long haul flights and late work nights! But as I dug deeper, I discovered so much more to love.

The Founder's Story: Inspiration & Connection

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to meet one of the co-founders of Common Heir, Angela Ubias, thanks to the lovely folks at Hey Day. Hearing about Common Heir's stories, their passion, and their vision for the brand was truly inspiring. We talked sustainability, big ambitions, and bridging the barrier for ALL women in business.

Beyond Beauty: Sustainability & Empowerment

Common Heir goes beyond just creating beautiful, effective skincare products. They're deeply committed to using sustainable practices, from thoughtfully sourcing their ingredients, designing products to reduce waste, and have formulated completely bio-degradable packaging. ♻️ This resonated deeply with me, as I believe conscious consumerism is so important.

But what truly sets Common Heir apart is its dedication to empowering the community. As a minority-owned, woman-led company, they are an active voice for support of other BIPOC individuals and causes.  This commitment to social impact truly aligns with the spirit of Black History Month, celebrating achievements and advocating for continued progress.

Join the Movement: Celebrate & Support

If you're looking for skincare that nourishes both your skin and your values, I urge you to check out Common Heir. It's more than just a brand; it's a movement towards a more sustainable, equitable, and beautiful future. This Black History Month, let's celebrate the achievements of black-owned businesses and individuals like Common Heir and its founders.
