HOW I SPENT 3 DAYS IN LA - girls trip itinerary

I love a girls trip, and this itinerary was the right amount of activity and bougieness, avoiding classic touristy things (but keeping them where needed!), to keep us ladies entertained. However, its certainly not female oriented and this itinerary would also suit couples, friends and solo travelers!

Day 1:

We arrived at our accommodation The Crescent by Sonder in Beverly Hills @sonderstays which was in an awesome location, huge room, comfy bed, cute decor and fantastic staff (not to mention great value!) - I highly recommend!

We spent the afternoon exploring the shopping on Rodeo Drive and surrounds, which is fantastic shopping with the right credit card ;) Even in the winter, we had an afternoon of 20°C sunshine so took the opportunity to rest in between stores with a cocktail on a sunny patio 🍸

We freshen up at our hotel, and then head out locally to @thehideawaybh for delicious ceviche, salad and tortilla chips, along with some bubbles on the house 🥂 A perfect way to start our trip! This restaurant is hidden (I guess that's implied...) But it's a fabulous downstairs venue that somehow has an indoor/outdoor vibe. Very cool and I would absolutely return here for dinner next time I'm in this area.

Day 2:

I can't start my day without a delicious, strong coffee, and @bluebottle was excellent (even by Australian standards!) ☕

We then went to hike through Runyan Canyon. The views from the top are so spectacular, with uninterrupted sights of LA, including the Hollywood sign 🎥 We caught an Uber to the peak and then walked along the top and back down to the street area. The Uber ride itself was a tour of the gorgeous houses scattered through the hills 🏠

Once down the bottom, we explored the Hollywood Walk of Fame along Hollywood Boulevard, taking note of the random characters added e.g. Bugs Bunny, the Rugrats, Donald Trump(!?)... still not sure of the criteria @hwdwalkoffame

After popping into a cafe for a quick sandwich and caffeine top up, we caught an Uber to the bottom of Fern Dell Nature trail to walk up to Griffith Observatory, again for some stunning views over LA. This trail is steep! ~40mins directly up the mountain so by the time we got to the top, we were happy to sit and take in the views! Fun fact: Adele held her 'One Night Only' private concert here in 2021

We concluded our active day with more activity - a dance class at the famous @theplaygroundla This was a great activity for us former dancers, and it certainly got the body moving, and some fun mixing with LA local dancers. A lot of fun with the wonderful @iambrandononeal 💃🏼

We left our class and headed straight to a much needed feed at @melroseumbrellabar The salad bowls here were perfect and the cocktails were next level 🍸 The venue decor is also super cute and we sat at the bar and enjoyed the people watching 👀

Once we freshened up at our hotel, we headed out for a nightcap at @themaybournebh This hotel bar is beautiful, quiet yet busy on a Wednesday evening, and serve up an amazing selection of wines. The bartenders certainly took care of us, and after 2 wines we walked home and crashed from a very very active day 👯‍♀️

Day 3:

It was time to explore the West Coast beaches! We took an @uber once again to get around ~$20 each way from Beverly Hills. We were dropped at Santa Monica Pier, where we walked through and took in the touristy chaos of the theme park on the pier, while walking to the end to check out the view of the coast up to Malibu and beyond ⛱️

We headed back to shore and walked the 1.5miles down to Venice Beach where we stopped in at @greatwhite for some Aussie inspired, Californian cafe food. It was popular, but for a reason. Every dish looked amazing and our choices of Poke bowls and salads were just what we needed in a sunny courtyard cafe by the beach. But I need to go back to try their beef burger because it looked phenomenal 🤤 (think Big Mac but restaurant better) next time...

Eating icecream while watching other workout at Muscle Beach

Next up we roller bladed on Venice Beach boardwalk (just like Barbie 💁🏼‍♀️) which was an excellent way to explore the north and south of the beach. You can hire from the many vendors along the beach for $12. I was no where near as good as the locals that appeared to be skate dancing(!?) along the beach and in the rink, but we tried hard and had a fab time 🛼 (Note: my body is still sore from this activity, so be prepared to use muscles you haven't in a long time!)

We explored the Venice canals on foot to admire the gorgeous beach homes moments away from the beach, before heading to @highrooftopvenice for sunset with a cocktail. This I absolutely recommend! A perfect way to finish a busy day of beach activities.

For our last night in LA, we went for a VIP kind of experience, and that's certainly what we got at @olivetta This restaurant was gorgeous, but the food was even better. We shared burrata, handmade short rib pasta, grilled fish and a delightful chocolate mousse dessert to finish. The sommelier recommended some excellent wine (the Pet Nat was superb 🥂) and we had the most beautiful meal, toasting to an awesome girls trip in LA!
